Our Mission & Vision

The essence of the church isn’t its buildings, or services, or programs to maintain the institution. It’s about people who are connected to each other through a vital faith relationship with Jesus Christ. Our name “Immanuel” means “God with us.”
We believe that the church is to be a faith community where truth and life intersect in a meaningful way, with Jesus Christ as the focal point of our faith and fellowship. Our mission is to connect people to God’s presence, love, truth, and mission so that we will become faith-filled followers of Jesus Christ.
If that is what you are looking for in a church, we’d like to invite you to check us out. We’re not perfect church (You’ll never find a perfect church because there are no perfect people!), but we aspire to be people who believe in Jesus Christ (our message of faith), who belong to God and one another (our ministry of love), and who become what God has in mind for his church in the world around us (our mission of hope).

If you have any questions, please feel welcome to call. We hope to see you this Sunday. A warm welcome awaits you.

Our Affiliation:

Though we come from many different backgrounds, our congregation is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America, a denomination originally formed by Scandinavian immigrants in the mid–19th century. Their original vision was to form congregations that were “Evangelical,” meaning based on the Bible’s teachings, and “Free” from government interference (since their former churches in Scandinavia were controlled by the state).
More information about the Evangelical Free Church in America can be found at its website: www.efca.org.

 Sean Rajnic, Senior Pastor

Sean Rajnic comes to us by way of Mountville, PA. He was serving at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church since 2004 where he led the Music & Arts, Discipleship, and Care & Prayer ministries. Originally from McAdoo, PA, near Hazleton, he and his wife, Beryl, previously llived in Denver, CO, for ten years, where he graduated from Denver Seminary. He was able to combine his desire to follow Jesus, a love of music, and a heart for counseling at St. Mark’s and is excited to begin leading the flock here at IEFC. When he’s not at work, you’ll probably find Sean and Beryl hanging out with their two daughters, Aria and Aliya, watching movies and eating sushi. They also have three Siamese cats, all named after sushi–Sushi, Unagi, and Wasabi–to which he is joyfully allergic. Pastor Sean is looking forward to this new chapter of his ministry here with us on this side of the river.

 Rob Dunham, Worship Leader

Rob comes to us by way of Ephrata, PA. He has been serving on the worship team at LCBC Ephrata for several years and is ready to spread his wings (and our wings) with us. He received his Master’s degree in Biblical Studies from Lancaster Bible College in May of 2016. He and his wife, Chariss, have two beautiful and energetic children. Rob loves relaxing in his living room and listening to his ever growing record collection. He also wonders how he is the only person in his family with musical abilities, but he just loves playing the piano! He draws inspiration and ideas from many styles of music and enjoys God’s gift of musical ability that is displayed all over the world. You can also often find Rob around Lancaster County with his band, Blue Sky Falls. He is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve this church family.
